i just built a 383 ls1 and i am using 0w30 non detergent for the first 200 miles of break in and either timing chain or oil pump seems to be making a mild ticking or knocking noise or at least it sounds like its coming from the front of engine with the belt off .the motor has a ported ls6 oil pump and a rollmaster double roller timing chian.any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

 

did u center the oil pump housing?it should have .002 clearece b-tween housing & driver.if you need 2 know how,just let me know..i will look back in
