Default just got some arp head studs

hey guys just picked me up a set of head studs and plan on tearing the car apart this weekend and wana know that right TQ spec for these. and how tight to put the studs in to the block, all so do i use the moly lube on the threads that go in to the block along with the nuts thanks

Moly lube on both sides of the stud, and on both sides of the washers. Thread the studs in hand tight. I use an allen wrench to turn them and make sure they are as far as they will go, sometimes they will hang up on the threads and appear to be in all the way when they really aren't.


Torque 1-10 to 30 ft-lbs, then 50, then final at 70 ft-lbs. Then torque 11-15 to 22 ft-lbs.

I agree with Mike. Doing them in the car is kind of a hassle, you will need to tape the two rear studs in the head to clear when you set the head in place (on an F body you won't ba able to set the studs once the head is in place. I also had to spin them in with an allen wrench, probably should have chased the threads first but this is also hard in the car. Used brake cleaner and compressed air to clean the holes. I bottomed the studs and then backed off slightly. In my case, it sure beats the torque to yield bolts.
