Default Check engine still on!

I have a 2000 Ws6.I took the cats off and ran a straight pipe.I bought 02 simulators for the 02 sensors. My check engine light still comes on. It reads bank 1 and 2. I bought 4 o2 simulators and the light came off just about for 3 min then it came back on. My car started back firing when i shift. What should I do. Should I buy Performance cats or get my car tuned. I am new so help.

Just get a tune and get the rears deleted, as well as any other unnecessary things. With straight pipes, you are most likely going to run pretty rich. You chance fouling out your sensors like that. A tune is worth it anyway. I picked up 23RWHP from my tune alone.

It says you bought four o2 sims in your post...Did you disconnect all of your oxygen sensors? Make sure you have the front oxygen sensors in and hooked to the correct spots on the harness.

how can you have 4 02 sims. Why did you take the front 02's off? When a friend of mine put headers on his car he wired his own extensions to the front 02 sensors and put sims in the rear. A week later he had major firing problems and it was all due to the front 02 sensors. They regulate the A/F ratio and are pretty important. Buy the extensions if you need them, don't wire your own!

You can't run o2 simulators up front. Take them out and plug the front o2 sensors back in. It should run fine then.
