it acts just like its a vats problem with the exception of the fact that in my car the security light is NOT on. sometimes i can turn the key off/on two or three times and it starts, sometimes i have to wait 30 minutes before it will start. MOST of the time the car cranks with no trouble at all though. what could it be?

 

update: car runs fine when push started, if this helps any.

 

Sounds like it's time for a new starter.
