Default Cam experts- pick my cam

Here's what I have:
'04 Vette, MN6,3.42 rear, K&N in Z06 airbox, stock manifolds,x pipe,cutouts.
Right now I have '03 Z06 heads and cam sitting in the garage. The heads will be freshened and ports cleaned up by a local speed shop before going on this winter. The car sees 10K/ year with no track time.
Here's what I'd ideally like to have in a cam:
use the stock LS6 springs
leave the stock exhaust manifolds on for a year
a little lope
good bottom end/ midrange
about the same gas mileage as I get now
Right now our NY emmissions is plug in ODB plug in. I don't know what's coming but I'd like to pass a sniffer if I have to.
I've read the entire sticky about cams twice, but I need some real world experience. Am I asking for too much out of one cam?

Suggestions?

1. Get TR224 (thunder racing 224/224 @114)

2. Its not worth just getting LS6 heads just "cleaned up" Get at least stg 2 port job done on them. maybe you can trade them in for stage 2 already done.

3. you cant use LS6 springs with this cam. the only cam that you can get without changing out is the z06 cam and thats just not worth it. youll be bored after a month. but you can get away with Comp 918s (non-dual)

4. Get american racing headers

looks like all you asking for is a hotcam...seeing as thats the biggest cam I know of that you can use with LS6 springs and have a decent lope.

GM ASA racing cam. Works well with stock springs and will a screamer with both exhaust and without. Problem is, why skimp out on some cheap insurance ? You can pick-up some 918 beehives for like 200 bucks? If you're having the heads cleaned up(which is just fine, or you could send them off to be cnc'd by TSP, patriot, livernois, etc.) they have to remove everything anyways. So why not do it once and do it right if you plan on using a low lift, small cam ? Hell, if you decide to go bigger down the road, YOU CAN! Good luck.

I'd do 918 springs and just mill the heads .030.(no port work). Then add a 224 on 112 duration Cam.

now my head hurts.
Anyone have a guesstimate on CNCing my bare heads? I want my friend to do the rest of the headwork. He's had a speed machine shop for 25 years.
