LS1 is 5.7 liter 346 CID GEN III V8 in all 97-2004 Corvettes (exc. Z06) (350 rated HP), 1998-2002 F-bodys (305-325 underrated HP, actual ~350 HP), and 2004 GTO's (350 rated HP).
LS6 is a 5.7 liter 346 CID GEN III V8 in all 2001-2004 Corvettes Z06's (385 rated hp for 2001, 405 rated HP for 2002+).
or, for you old schoolers,
LS6 is a 454 CID (7.4L) MARK IV BBC in the 1970-1971 Chevelles and Corvettes (450 underrated HP, actual ~500 HP)
LS2 is a 6.0 liter 366 CID GEN IV V8 in all 2005-2006 Corvettes (exc. Z06), 2005-2006 GTO's and supposedly the new '09 Camaro.(400 rated HP).
