Default Forged 346 questions

Hello, I am doing an STS GT76 setup on my gto and am wondering where to get a forged motor or is it possible/cheaper to use my shortblock and buy a forged assembly, what all needs to be done? Sorry for the newbish type questions.

I cant really afford heads right now either....so it would have to be just a cam and shortblock. I may not even do the forged motor yet. I'll be running methanol also

I would go w/ stock shortblock, get some heads and cam and leave the boost < 10 lbs until you can afford a built motor. That should leave you some left over $$ for now for all the upgrades you'll be needing soon (clutch, fuel sys, etc...), then when you've got all that stuff in check get the shortblock built.

i found that building your own would save me about 100bux, so with all the work and possible fuckups involved, nah, i'd rather leave it to the professionals...

Forged pistons and ARP rod bolts if you plan on cranking out of the 6-7psi range for sure.

Around 3k yes. LME, HPE, W2W, SDPC, and Rapid.... would be my top 5 in that price range....
