Default oil pressure.. increasing?

Since changing from 10w-30 to 5w-30 a few months ago.. I have noticed my oil pressure increasing. (not sure if the oil had anything to do with it.. its just thats around the same time i noticed this)

i used to be @ 45-50psi idle.. 65psi under full throttle

no im 55-60 idle.. 70-75psi full throttle..

also when I start the car in the cold morning... my pressure is 75psi.

car is a 98 LS1 M6.. 111k miles. never opened the motor.. no issues.. dyno'd 325rwhp with cat back, tune, no cats.. 4.10's

should I be getting worried that something is blocking the flow? sludge? anything?

I woudnt worry bout good oil pressure! if its low is when i would worry, my guess would be the fact that the oil you put in there is thinner than the old oil? idk?

I'm guessing it wasn't the same brand of oil that you switched to. Even though you went from 10w-30 to 5w-30 the newer brand could certainly be thicker. Case in point, M1 5w-30 is thinner than German Castrol 0w-30. Thus, a thicker oil would certainly raise oil pressure. Again, only an assumption but that would explain it.

Ummm....Its the weather. I bet the ambient temps have significantly cooled, hence you notice the rise in oil pressure. Its totally normal. This is also very easy to observe on a car that has an oil temp gauge, like a C5.
