Critique this cam As many of you know, I'm wanting something like a G5X2 with just a little more UUMPH! After talking to many people, here's something I just came up with in my mind. Tell me how this sounds:
Stock G5X2 specs (for comparison purposes)
232/240 .595/.608 112 or 114 LSA
I'm thinking of going similar, but with an LSK lobe on the intake (instead of an XER like the G5X2, for more power throughout the powerband).
231/240 .643/.608 112+2 (110 ICL)
Heads will be Livernois 243s milled .030" for 59cc chambers, if my calculations are correct.

Hmmm... I understand that 231 LSK lobe will probably spec out a little bigger, but why are you targeting a 9 degree difference in duration between intake/exhaust.
Single patterns are sure working well (like the 224 you had). Are your specs set in stone? Having that extra exhaust duration if not necessary will result in more overlap and less overlap might be advantageous for the street when talking about a 23x/24x cam.

Well, honestly because although the trend is the closer patterns, the cams that are proven, repeat performers have that split. Those cams I'm referring to are the G5X series. My tuners both think the G5X2 is the way to go and its specs are there. You can see time and again they work. So with that large lift, that long exhaust duration should allow nice overlap for the nice sound plus the compression that is so important. If my thinking is off, please point it out. That's why I have this thread here.
