hey guys im building my car to go turbo,so i wanna freshen up the motor its a 98 ss ls1,now here are my questions

1.if i were to have a spun bearing is the crank garbage or is it still useable?will i then need diffrent size bearings exc for the rods and mains?

2.w/e the stock bore is if its not damage wats the least i can hone it and then wat size pistons will i need or can i buy stock bore size pistons?

3.wassup with some bearings that they state for use with stock crank and others dont say nothing?what are the best bearings out there for my answer to question number 1?

4.what is the best head gasket for a 98 block using the 6.0 317 heads?

1. the crank can still be used. you need to have it measured to see if it can still be ground.

2. this also has to be measured. there is a clearance range that you can run, once thats too big, you have to go to the next size piston.

3. if you cut the crank, you cant use stock bearings. the bearing used have to match how much the crank has been ground

4. my best guess is there isnt any gasket thats better than the others, it would just be a matter of opinion. mine, would be since youre running turbo, phone cometic and get an MLS gasket from them for your specific application.
