I have a new LS6 block. I noticed around all the lifter bores and oil gallies there are small peices of aluninum on the edges from the machining process that can easily be knocked off. Any tips on how to get to all of them and prep a new block??? Should I really worry about them?

 

file or dremel should be fine - just make sure not to damage any of the machined surfaces. also, watch out that you don't get filings into the motor

 

Chris my LS6 cam like that. All I did was take my dremel and went over them. But I didnt go crazy. Good luck with the new build. Now youll be able to make good power and not have to worry about the stock bottom end anymore!
