Default question on hydro lock

a friends car was hydrolocked and made a hole right above the starter about the size of a golf ball. my question does he need a new block or can it be repaired?

Thanks
Eric

That just happened to me about a month ago, in the exact same place. It knocked out where the crank position sensor sits. Sorry but it's not repairable. Have him contact his insurance company and see if he has coverage. If he does, well look at my sig.

Full insurance coverage will usually cover something like that...I damn near lost my motor the same way.

Did he have it parked for a whole month?? That will be tough to claim. Man, I noticed all the oil on the ground the day it happened.

yea, its been parked for a month. no oil spilled form the hole. the day i found the hole he was trying to start it and said he hear grinding. i figure he barley made the hole the day he was messing with it.
