Default Identifying a bad lifter

If you pull the cam would you see wear on the cam from a bad lifter? Can you have a bad lifter and not see any wear/damage on the cam? ive been trying to hunt down this tick, starting to drive me nuts

Only god way to do it is to yank the heads and the lifters.
