Default Best Cam under .600

Im looking for a cam that will match my 918's in an LS2. my car is 2650lbs and an M6 so i could go bigger but i dont want to go too crazy with it. i dont want to have to clearance for too big of a cam. also i beleive ill use stock length pushrods. if anyone has any advice that would be great! please reply with specs. thinking of making 400+rwhp the ls2 i have already made 371/365 stock with gutted cats, x-pipe and mufflers. so i beleive a cam +tune will get me there. but i want it to be good enough to put me to 400 or just a little over to the wheels.

TR 224 is always a good choice with .581 lift and pairs very well with those springs.

I like my comp xer 281 hr, It pulls awsome to my limiter a 7k and pulls like stock from idle to 2k and then it turns into a animal. Lift is just under .6 and I'm runnin 918 springs.

I think most cams are under 600, most of them price out around 500. Unless you're talking kits, then yeah, hard to find those for under 600.

I think he mean .600 lift, not $600

P.S. you can buy a cam from nearly anywere for $380-$400

i think i want something a bit bigger than the 224 cams, i was thinking something in the low 230's something like rocketman's talking about. im looking for a used cam so basically i want an idea of what my options are then search for them after. the motor is going to be put in , in probably less than a week so i want the cam before then but im trying to find my options, if it comes down to it ill just put it in and then put the cam in over winter and get it ready for spring.

I personally wouldn't run a ~.600 lift cam with springs rated at .600, especially a cam on xer lobes. It's gonna beat the hell out of those springs, especially with them running at their max effort.

i think the t2=232/234 .595/.598 would be a great choice.in a car that light a decent sized cam will be an animal.even though the 918s are only rated to .600 they will handle a cam slightly over .600 and still have room.

918's are a lot more spring than people credit them for. They used to be rated to .615" until the comp 921's came out, then they down rated them...most likely to sell more duals.

FWIW, I wouldn't think twice about running 918's with .600" lift.
