Question regarding cam marketing
Just curious how true this statement really is. Take, for instance, their custom "old man" camshaft. It's a 214/220 .600/.523 115 LSA. Their dyno chart shows it picking up 30RWHP on a car that already had LTs, ORY, exhaust cutout, and airbox lid. This particular cam description clearly states, "no computer tuning required."
So basically, if I were to install this cam without tuning, there would be no worries of check engine lights, air/fuel ratios being all over the place, etc. etc.?? The "no computer tuning required" blurb really got my attention.

Maybe not the best example, but IMO, every single mod that affects airflow into and out of the engine can benefit from a tune. And IMO it should be done.

Will you benefit from tuning??? Yes. Is it necessary with that cam??? No. The point is that your car will run ok (and shouldn't throw an SES) just by putting that particular cam in. I did it in my truck and it worked fine. Much later I did spend time tuning my truck and it is better, but it was still quite livable on a stock tune. With some of the larger cams out there you would be lucky if the car even runs without some tuning.
