Default Please double check my CR for me!

Well, Im still new to engine building, and would really appreciate if it you guys could double check this for me to make sure im not overlooking something on the compression ratio.

bore: 3.898
stroke: 3.622
stock 5.3 heads: 61cc
piston dish: -8cc
and gasket thickness is .050

Using a calculator I found on google its coming up to 9.996, so pretty much 10:1, which is my goal for the CR.

This calculator dosent ask for the deck height, though I have seen some that do. Is the deck height nessicary for calculating compression? I believe I read somewhere that the gen III engines use a - deck height, the piston extending past block very little to compress a little more. True?

Thanks a lot guys!

I use Pat Kelly's program and you need to know the deck height in order to use it. So I can't help without it.

I used DynoSim and got 10.04:1 Static CR based on the piston being flush with the deck at TDC and a head gasket diameter of 3.950".

So nearly right on then? I was looking at using a cometic 3.910 head gasket that a member here pointed out to me.

Thanks,
