918`s vs double springs package
and the diffirence in price isn`t bad either (only springs changed in the 918`s)
so I`ll ask again
are all these three correct? correct me if I`m wrong:1-they are more durable than double springs (more springs life milage with the same cam) <===a cam with 580-600 lift with the double springs being rated to 650 lift
2-they will make a little more power from the reduced valvetrain weight)
3-power band should be the same since the steel retainers beehive are almost the same weight of the titanium retainers on the double springs. (this might be only true to bbc changed over to beehive)
2- only slightly more, most likely nothing that measureable. you would get more benefit from using a lighter valve.
3- power band should not be affected much by either. More things are taken into account than just spring weight/strength when figuring how high you can rev. The lightest valvetrain could cause horrible harmonics if set up improperly with incorrect length pushrods, lash, etc. Also, just because you put lighter springs doesn't mean you can rev higher either. I wouldn't pick one or the other based on the fact that one may allow you to rev 100 rpm higher.
if we used say a stock LS6 cam or a mild cam from the XE lobes from comp wich one will last longer before they they lose their strengh and start to float sooner? or will last longer miles wise in the same engine usege?
2-thanks for your info

3-thanks again.
will beat a
242 248 575 575 110 same ICL
in a race say from a roll both cars with the same mods assuming they were very close in the same race distance!
if that was true then I know nothing about cams

Like a 231/235 LSK cam will make the same power as a 240/24x XE cam
ramp rate is where it is at and then add the lifts.
As mentionned, better under curve power and within range on top.

Look at the .200 and .400 VEs to see the picture.
