You can do it in the car. Many have. But look at this, dude. Once you're down to removing everything for a heads/cam swap, you're just like 10 bolts away from pulling the motor. Just pull it and make it easy on everyone. Comes right outta the top like nothing. It was so easy I was amazed. Then you can do everything you want. I decided to go ahead and upgrade my rod bolts and to upgrade to poly motor mounts (1 stock mount was busted anyway) while it was out. That way you can get the cheap upgrades done while the motor is out and it isn't more labor.

For christ sake get the X3 on a 112. It fits, no questions asked. It makes great power everywhere and will perform well on the street and track.

I went with the 114 on my stalled A4.. just a hair over 400 to the wheels.. 405 Tq..
I love it!! oh and mine is daily driven as well..

112 for the M6, 114 for an A4....

FWIW, I notched my pistons, not a difficult process at all.

Mine is on a 112 lsa,didnt have to flycut either.Great cam,that will run some great track times too!!!!
