Question Keepers and Retainers question...

Ok Guys, I ordered my new cam today for TSP. I ordered the 224/224 .566/.566 package that included the 918 "beehive" springs. When I talked to TSP they said that package is ment to reuse the stock keepers and retainers. Well I am not crazy about reusing the stock pieces that have 58,000 miles on them.... Well I did find on the TSP website that they sell Titanium retainers to fit these springs, but I can't find any keepers anywhere. They don't really have to be titanium, I just want pieces that will hold up. I still have the stock rev limiter and don't plan on changing it.... infact my LS1 dosent see 5000 +rpm too often anyway.

Should I get the new pieces? What is everyone using? Where can I get new keepers?

Thanks!

Stock ones will work just fine man in your case.

I like the machined locks as opposed to the stock stamped pieces, I think they are good insurance for around $35 when you consider the cost in the overall scheme of things and the higher spring loads involved. I would talk to TSP if you want machined locks, presumably when they designed their retainer it was sized for the Comp machined locks.
