Small-bore and large-bore AFR 225s?

Small-bore and large-bore AFR 225s? What's the difference between small-bore and large-bore AFR 225s? I assume the small-bore are for 3.905 bore blocks and the large-bore are for 4"+ bores. Is it just unshrouding the valves?
Reason I ask is that I want to go with a 427 eventually but I am going to have to do that in stages. If I could run small-bore 225s on a 347 now (I know 205s would be more ideal), and then have them opened up later to use on a 427, that would be ideal.
