Back when my car was stock I did the 3-2 shift at 100mph and did the same thing. New pushrods and changed the oil and everything was good to go.

LOL!

I think he means to get rid of the filings.

After I flycut my pistons I had some filings I wanted to make sure i flushed out. I grabbed a few gallon jugs of wallmart oil and ran for a day, changed it with more crappy oil, and ran 100 miles or so before finally changing back to good synthetic. I fealt that I got rid of any filings safely.

Yes I did say that to get rid of the filings and any material still left in there. To me, its his BIGGEST problem right now. metal shaving going into the pan, sucked up and going around the entire rotating assembly and bearings? Big deal

I just went thru the same thing on my 98 with 174,000 miles. Had 2 or three oval shaped like that. I just bought some comp chrome molly rods and put them in. Runs great again. Been about 1000 miles so far.

The best way to cure this is (not the cheapest, but best):
1- deburr the holes
2- run a set of rockers with guides (like comp 1.75)

With upgrading valvesprings, (assuming he has some) pushrod deflection of the stockers becomes that much more possible. Put the hardened pushrods in.

Ok, so my fast quip was not handled like a joke.
1. Figure out what is going on.
2. Change the pushrods/heads/guides/...ect
3. Change oil when all said and done.

I thought that was understood? lol
