Default New guy looking for tech. help!!

I am currently selling my 03 Cobra to pick up a 02-04 Z06. After doing some looking around I was thinking of doing a Katech 427 Sb and all the goodies on top. So picking a high mileage one up wasnt a concern. I found a local 99 vette for a good price and was thinking about that... my concern is what would be differance between the 2 and would I end up spending more money making it work?

Thanks

You will spend a lot if you are trying to go for the 427 LS7. Re-sleeving the block for a 427 would probably be pretty pricey as well. You could part out your current motor or you could sell it as a whole and probably make just a fraction of what the cost is gonna be. Unless however you are looking at that budget 427 shortblock they have for about $7k. Good ported/polished LS7 heads w/ upgraded valvetrain cmponents will probably not be less than $2500.00. Either way a 408 with forced induction will be waaaay cheaper, even with all the goodies.
