Default What would you do?

I will be picking up a 01 Z06 this weekend and have some money set a side for some performance stuff. The car already has a small cam and lt's with your usual bolt ons. I will enjoy the car for a little while then I have 2 options...

1) Get a KB for it and run 7-8lbs for a while making 530-550hp.

2) I got a quote from a local engine builder that is known for great work (superior automotive)
383ci
Forged everything
Coated pistons
We talked about so much I am not sure if he said AFR heads or LS7?
Comp cams
90mm TB
He quoted me just under $10g's for the longblock and said it would make at least 550hp.

If it were me, I'd invest in the KB, enjoy it for a while, and then consider building a forged 408 for the KB and make mad power. Keep in mind that those numbers you're quoting are just peak numbers. 530HP out of a KB is going to be significantly faster than 550HP out of a N/A motor. The KB will give you a table-top torque curve that just can't be beat.

Root style blower would dominate. That is one reason I want a damn vette. All these f-bodies and their stupid cowls.
