Default 400 ain't enough

I wish that I'd listened to others before I started to modify. Now I have 400rwhp from a cheatr/pat2 package with heads and it really isn't enough. Give me some options, I'm guessing I need about 500 rwhp to be happy in my street car. I know about nitrous, but it's highly frowned upon by local law enforcement. What's the most reliable way to reach 500rwhp. in my daily driver. Maybe an sts..... bigger heads and cam.... I don't know.

spray, cam swap, forced induction

that is if you have traction, might want to work on that some

i say either spray it and get you a remote bottle opener or get you a set of 317 heads and throw on a d1 supercharger.

You can 10 sec pass a fully suspended (correctly) 400rwhp car. Look at it this way. you almost have 500 @ the flywheel.

Maybe it's my gears... I have 3.42's. I guess i want something that will run through 3.42's quickly. My car is faster and I can break the tires loose in 2nd from 35mph but I'm looking to break loose at 60 and have traction limited by the accelerator press.

Can you drive that T-rex on the street? Most of my driving is street. I rarely go to the track.

are you saying you want to break them loose at 60? it's kinda scary. I broke my street tires loose at 80 once and almost ended up in a cornfield.

I guess I probably need a 408 or something. I just watched one of these internet videos with a threeway race between a 550rwhp cobra, a z06 on nitrous and a ss. The cobra was pulling the pre '06 ZO6 and then the camera turns and the ss simply walks off. This is what I want to do..... but still drive it on long trips every weekend.

well it sounds like nitrous is perfect for you, Just hide the switch box out of view from outside the car (where the officer will be standing). Put the bottle in the spare tire well, and go with the 408. This will make you happy, just don't put to much cam in in if you want to drive long distances.

A larger cam (which will require 4.10 or larger gear) 90MM\90MM combo and better heads will get you in the mid to upper 400s...sounds like spray is the way for you to go ... it will get you to where you want to go without drivability issues and you can still run your 3.42 gears...not to mention that it is the still the cheapest way to do it..
