They weld in the combuston chamber to raise comp ratio
That puts you right back at an LS6 243 head. The 243 LS6 head and 317 6.0L head are the same ports just the 6.0L heads have 72cc chambers and the 243 heads have 64cc chambers..

cost, time, who's going to do it, when and how good it will be done. I just rather bolt something on and go. i dont have a trailer or know anybody that can do this. i don't trust anybody in town other than one perfomance shop to do it, but i got to ask them.

If you are going to spend the coin on a set of heads etc...why not get the most you can out of them. Get them milled/run a mls thinner gasket and get the piston's flycut so you can bump up your compression some and gain the hp and power bad a lil bit. cost (shop charges 75 bucks an hour on average shouldn't take more than 2 hours at most with heads off) time...read before about 2 hours.
