this is an easy choice if it were that simple, for the same money an ls2 over an ls1. But if we count green backs then an ls1 with mods.

dude 650 at the wheels on the motor is going to be nearly impossible. you will need atleast a 41x inch motor and a huge *** cam and some big heads. I would focus more around 575 rwhp and have a ton of power under the curve so I could actually drive the car around.

Iron block works great for boost. I would imagine that you could get a high compression 11.1:1 or so from a sponsor on here through like World Products. their Warhawk blocks and heads will deliver what you are looking for. Katech is a good place to start. They have a 454 Aluminum LSX based (small block not BBC ) That has 100% saftey already. You could potentially make it bigger, but that margin for error starts to show up (saftey in the bottom end). I bet that would yield you the 650 or damn close that you are looking at wanting. The block is a dry sump oiling system like the new ZO6 has and they have heads (World Products) that have a 2 extra bolt provisioning for more added strength on every cylinder.

BTW: Get ready to spend some 10,000 dollars for the long block assembly.

Yup. The question isn't how much you can get, but how much you can afford. 'Twas ever so.

im on the same boat and have the money available just cant make up my mind.... i know i want to go to a aluminum 427 no smaller or bigger than that and i know i want to go boosted in the future. just dont know...save money and resleeved ls1 or ls2 block? or go with the new warhawk block? so many things i have to put into consideration like the ls1 would be a direct swap in and much simpler but does it lack the ***** of a warhawk block or ls2?....

Sorry a little off topic.

Your web site look great. I am planning a stroker motor for my 98 Camaro. I live in Vancouver. I am looking for a full sevice plan. Forged motor, install with headers and tune. I know I can buy a motor from you, but it will be difficult to bring my car to Toronto for the install. Do you have anyone out this way that can complete the install and tune?

Also, whats involved in putting a 4th gen engine (LS2) in my car. I know there are differences in covers, sensors and other parts. Can you supply me with a drop in engine?

Thanks JA

ls2 resleeved, 427ci!!! it's cheaper than buying a c5r block which is 6400 bucks! but to make that kind of power you'll need some serious cubes.

There's absolutely no reason for an NA car to use an iron block. The aluminum block works just fine.

I say go with a 402 LS2.

IMO to make 650 to the wheels NA it is going to take huge heads, cam, and an individual runner intake setup in a high compression (13:1) motor. Possibly even a larger engine, say 427-455. And yes those are still "small blocks". There is no difference in physical dimensions or weight between the LS1 346 and an LS2 402, 427, or 454+.
