I know its a dumb question but its killing me, but I have to know.

What causes a Knock?
How sensitive are our knock sensors?
What happens during a knock?
Can a screwed up tran. mount which is causing my car to vibrate cause a False Knock? if sodoes it take away HP?

Sorry for the questions, but I've always wanted to know in a little more detail besides the fact that it's not good to have.
