I know what a shortblock consists of

but for sales purposes what do you look for when your buying a longblock from someone?

Well since a long block is nothing more than a short block with heads (maybe intake and a few other things), I would look for the same things as I would if I were buying any engine. Good quality parts, reputable builder, proven dyno numbers and a setup that will match your needs. As long as you can get all that in a budget you can live with, your set.
