Default T-stat modification

Has anyone here done this, or did they buy one? I saw this link and was thinking about trying it this weekend..

I have a 2001 and have heard they come with a 180* T-stat. Does anyone know if they are put together the same way? If I can mod it for $5-$10 instead of buying one for $50 I think I would be <img src="images/icons/grin.gif" border="0">

I did the mod a loooong time ago. Our gages are so unrefined, can't really tell what it did.
I didn't get ATAP 'till a few months ago. And my fan setting is still at the factory setting.

I ran this modification on my stock thermostat for well over a year and it worked great. My 98 gauge showed a noticeable change on it. I also had the fan settings come on sooner with the HPP3 tuning, that's something you need to do as well, because if you run a cooler thermo with the stock fan settings then the temperature will still run hot when stopped in traffic.
