Default AHHH CRAP!!!!

<img src="images/icons/mad.gif" border="0">

Got my engine in today. Was taking it off the truck with the engine crane and all of a sudden 2 feet of the ground the chain cradelling the engine comes unhook from the crane's hook and drops to the ground!!

It cracked the oil pain, man what a mess. It didnt dent it or destroy it.

Could anything happen to it? I was hoping the pan didnt go up into the crank. But it doesnt look like it did. Im going to take off the tranny and put the engine on a engine stand and check everything out.

Ouch...as long as it didn't touch the crank I would think that it would all be ok...just look around for loose parts...or an internal part may have gotten cracked...

Be sure to inspect the block carefully, as well as the front cover. Check all the bolt holes for stripping as well. The pan is part of the structure of the engine (which is why it's not a flimsy stamped piece as in the past). Hopefully nothing else is damaged. That sucks.
