Default Titanium retainers

Are they a must with a cam swap?

I know they lighten the valvetrain and free up some pony's but they don't add any durability do they?

Not really, in fact, to some degree they are a detriment as far as longevity to a good steel retainer. Less important on beehive spring too, since they are generally smaller than doubles.

Not necessary, but not a bad idea either. Like vettenuts pointed out our beehive styled springs are smaller at the top and a Ti retainers is less important than on a conventional styled spring. If you're running a smaller sized cam, you could probably better spend that money else where.

Cool. I am still deciding if I will go for them or not.

So far I have the TSP 228R, TSP pushrods, LS2 chain, Cam/Gasket kit and Comp 918's!

All I need is a pulley....

I cant wait

didnt touch the retainers on my cam swap.. been driving my cammed car daily for close to like 2-4k miles and no problems so far

The Titanium retainers will give you a little more added insurance against valve float at higher RPM's. You can probably go an extra 200-300~ rpm's more until you start seeing it happen.
