Default Comp Cams timing chain?

Is anybody using it? Is it a true dual roller chain? Its not just larger gears to take up the slack with a GM chain like the Cloyes is it?

There are two Cloyes chains. One uses the factory chain and has billet gears and the other has the same gears and a jwiss chain, which is awesome. Comp sources their chains from Cloyes I believe.

Ya. Throw away any chains marked 'RENOLD'. If you need a Jwis Kettin, Katech has them for around $80 or so.

So does the Comp Cams set-up come with the jwiss chain or the renold chain?

Can the Cloyes set-up with jwiss chain be purchased as a set?

The Cloyes '-AL' part number has the better chain. HARD to find anyone stocking it. Most often a special order. Expect a $200-250 premium for that p/n. It's better just to get the Cloyes 'A' gears, toss the RENOLD chain away and order a Jwis Kettin from Katech for $80.

Also, FWIW the Comp gears are Cloyes gears with one minor change which isn't important. Consider them Cloyes gears. Also, Katech has them cheaper at like $100 for the 'A' gears.
