THERMOSTAT QUESTION

i have a 99 T/A and i was wondering if i got the 160 degree thermostat would i have to buy anything else to go along with it, like the manual switch to kick the cooling fans on, to make it work...would it hurt anything if thats all i put in for now, or will the car still run at 210 like usual b/c of the fans not set to kick on till 210...i have access to a tech 2 and was wondering if the tech 2 can change the temperature when the fans kick on like the hypertech can?? if i get the thermostat, what do ya'll suggest i should get with the thermostat?? should i get the fan switch, do the throttle body coolant bypass, etc...

TechII will not PERMANENTLY save ANY changes.

Colder t-stat is a good idea.

My car runs around 185F with my setup.

Thermostat:

I have not done the thermostat trick yet. I have a 2001 car which comes stock with a 180* T-stat. So I don't think I need it yet. Car runs normally at 190*...

The write up GWJ gave me in the Fan switch thread is what I did.. It works excelent!! Hope this helps and saves you a few bucks..
