Default Help > Do I need a new oil pump gasket ?

This is Ron (Kimchee and Rice). I am using Dugs computer here in Phoenix.

Well, I am finally back from Korea. I am just starting a head, cam, header change.

I will be removing the oil pump because I am changing the timing gear set.

Is there a gasket between the oil pump and engine block? If so, is it reusable, or do I need to purchase a new one after pulling the pump?

Also, if anyone has a P/N for the gasket (if there is one), I would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Ron Larson

no pump to block gasket

Pick-up tube o-ring is the only thing to watch, as long as you don't cut the o-ring you can re-use it.

Harlan...

Thanks for the real fast response. Really appreciate it.

Well, I have a set of TEA 5.3 heads on order. The heads will ship next week. Using a TR-220 cam. a set of FLPs, and a LS6 intake. Nothing real radical, but should run ok for this daily driver.
