Default Question for the Colonel

Colonel, I saw your list of mods on that Syclone site. I just realized that you are running 4.10's in an A3! I'm sure you don't take the car to get groceries in but I was wondering how much you think you would lose if you had a manual, either a T-56 M6 or an M4 like Mikey with say, 4.33 gears? Do think that it's possible to get an N/A maunal in the 9's? Thanks.
PS Anybody else with thoughts on this??

SAM SS has a M4, not Mikey. and they do run 9's. i would venture to say that they put out just a touch more power than Colonel.

Sorry, I meant N/A without NOS, and thanks for the correction, I knew someone was running an M4

Right, NA 9s have already been done with an M4 by the SAM car. And yes, that car has more power than I have. It has a solid lift cam and can turn over 8000 rpm. I have a hydraulic cam shifting at 6800.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking anything away from the SAM car....it's simply AWESOME! It is indeed a heavier car than mine PLUS it's a manual. To still run 9 is quite a feat.

I don't know if I'd be in the 9s with that tranny right now or not. I just don't know enough to say. I will say that Judson 60fts as well or better than I do so...maybe.
