Piston slap...
Yes, its normal, no, it doesnt bother me (well, no more than the next guy anyways). I am curious though about people saying that it will get worse with miles or whatnot. I have NEVER! heard someone say "well, started slapping around 110K". EVER. I always hear "never did it" or "did it since I pulled her off the lot". Any opinions/testimony, im tired of hearing people say "well, I expect mine to start any time now, has 100K miles on it". Its a design tolerance, not a wear problem, no?

i think you either have it or ya dont. some are more severe than others. if it hasnt done it up untill now and you have 75k miles on it for example than it shouldnt start...unless you f-ck something up (spin a bearing etc etc.). im in the catogory of "its done it since day one" till this day i havent had any lower end issues.

How many miles on yours? As far as spun bearings, 4.6 2vs do that a LOT more than LSX's I thought.

I'm pretty sure mine has done it since day one, but it has only been amplified over time with my exhaust mods (LT headers will bring out the sound a bit more IMO). At first, I didn't know what to listen for...but now that I do, it is clear as day to me. My girlfriend, on the other hand, has no idea what I'm talking about.
I've had an oil analysis done for peace of mind, and my engine showed no more wear than normal. After that, I didn't worry about it anymore, and I hardly even notice it.
