What oil pressure does your ARE motor read
What oil pressure does your ARE motor read My oil pressure guage normally reads 42psi at idle and 62psi and when driving. This week the guages have jumped to 62psi at idle and 72psi when driving. We have replaced the guages and checked the oil pressure and they are accurate. My question is: What does your ARE motor oil pressure guage read at idle and driving? Depends on oil pump and oil weight and even a few other factors. Your oil pressure sounds high but better than being low. I have no idea why your oil presure would jump 20psi this week however. Maybe you should perform a simple oil change and see what happens.

I think you need to be a little more specific. What wieght of oil are you using? What are the temps like in you area? How old is your oil? Have you recently had and oil change? Is you motor stock displacement or re-sleeved?
I have an ARE motor in my car and run 20/50 in the hot summer months and 10/30 in the cold winter months. My oil pressure varies slightly depending on temperature however I generally run about 42psi cold at idle dropping to about 35 psi hot at idle, under load my oil pressure will jump to about 60 psi until I let off the throttle. When my oil gets older pressure generally begins to drop off as viscosity breaks down after a change my oil pressure reads higher for a few days.
The ARE oil pump provides much higher volume than stock as it is ported, so the pressure will vary depending on a number of conditions. It doesn't sound like you have a problem based on what you have said so far.
