Anybody tried this? You know how the cutout has 3 studs, has anybody tried bolting the cap on only using 2 of the 3 bolts? You would be blocking off 35% or so of the hole. I would think this would give the exhaust a bit more backpressure.
Anybody done this?

I had another plate made up with about a 1" to 1 1/2" hole cut in it that I would run sometimes when I didn't want it too loud but not too quiet either. Dynoed it open and with the partial plate and only lost 1 or 2 horsepower.

tried that once but i think it sorta sounds like a leak in the exhaust pipe.... so i just left it off hehhee

Empire Motorsports has not been selling my powerplate since last April, although I can't get my product off of their website.
The updated page for the power plate is www.mccordcg.com/mpp/mpp.htm

No problem Keith!!! To me it is the best of both worlds. Loud when ya want it and quiet when ya need it. Now if I can get some time off to order one and install it. Cutting staff sucks.
I put washers (equal to about a 3/16" shim) behind my cap one day. Drove around like that for a few days and at WOT the exhaust had a 'Ssssshhh' sound to it. Didn't like it at all, but I would think using different blocking methods would produce different sounds. Just try it and see if you like it.
