Default Better drivability/performace/sound

I was wondering if someone could tell me which cam would be better for a M6 DD. Cartek cam 218/222 sl114 or a comp cam 228/230 .571/.575 112. I am looking for something that sounds like a over stock cam but not crazy were I can't drive it easily in rush hour traffic. Thanks

Neither. I know you don't have either cam at this point, so I want to suggest a different selection to you. The M6 cars are more forgiving than the A4. I think that a cheaTR cam from Thunder racing sounds like it might be up your alley. High lift, lower duration. You will make a boat load of power with it to boot. There are a million cams out there, but only a handful will be ones that you will want to consider. Sounds like this car does get frequently driven to work, or in high traffic areas, so stay away from anything over 236 duration unless you plan on doing a gear swap.

Also, don't rule out the proven 224/224 112/114 cams.

The 218/222 can be tuned to be invisible from a driving standpoint. The 228/230 112 can be made very drivable, but it takes a much better tune to do it.

I wouldn't accept a suboptimal cam to save $100. It has much too big an effect on power and drivability.

i have the 228/230 cam you listed above and it drives very very nicely, but then again i have spent countless hours on the parkway using my wideband and hp tuners....with the proper tune you can get away with murder.I laso made 421 rwhp with it and 350 ftlb at 3k rpms, not 3500 rpms like most head cam setups.
