Internet Racing Supply head question.... when you go with their power package, do they port the heads to match the cam that you select? or is it just a general porting job? would it be advantageous if buying a used package and going with a different cam to have a local shop clean them up to match my cam specs? thanks for any info.

Re: Internet Racing Supply head question.... No, they dont to my knowledge port match your heads to match any cam. It is a general "stage2" set up. Except you dont get the big 2.055 valves that some shops offer on their "stage 2's". You get the 2.02 intake valves.
On the exhaust you get the 1.57 exhaust valves instead of the 1.6's.
The trade off is they cost quite a bit less than their "stage 2" competition.
To keep cost down, they do not use the
"Heavy Duty" dual valve springs that some of the other shops use.
Some IRS heads are CNC'd...some are not. Be aware of what your buying if you are buying them used.
IRS also sells a "stage 3" but these are more for the "stroker/bored" applications.
