The quest for a pcv fix...
I remember reading about somone trying out a new pcv valve that GM came out with. I've tried several things but none has impressed me. Anyone got any info on this? TIA
I can't tell you about oil consumption yet since I just installed new pcv valve (CV2001-C) in my '01 SS but I can tell you that my car has quit pinging. This valve is for ls1 truck engines (5.3 etc) however it replaces the same identical valve that was in my car (948-C). Go to this web site for more info:

Thanks for the info guy's Going to order it tomorrow and see if it helps. Hopefully it will. Trying to get by without putting some sort of canister in the engine bay. Backorder?, everybody and their brother is prolly trying one Thanks again
The bulletin is posted at: http://www.geocities.com/crackeregg/...06-01-029.html and pertains to 5.3 and 6.0 truck engines. The valve that is being replaced in this bulletin is the same exact valve that was in my '01 SS. Only cost $5.00 at local Chevy dealer. I wanted it mainly for the pinging but since it is the excessive oil that is causing the pinging (In my case) it will kill two birds with one stone.
