Thermostat change/Fan relay
My questions are:
1-what kind of horsepower gains can be accomplished, and does it affect mileage/driveability?? Any #s people have for before/after these mods? I'm thinking the motor would not operate as efficently(spelling??) at a lower temp for mpg. I figure horsepower is better at a lower temp off my carb tuning days, but what's optimal??
2-advice on whether to do the fan relay as a buy and plug in (slp for example) or do it with a shadetree approach?
I'm trying to do minimal cut-up work to this car as it is my daily driver. That way I can always put it back to stock. My nova gets the hack stuff, b/c I can always buy a new panel for that. I just want to do future mods to the formula off other members experiences.
Thanks guys!!

I have the HPP3 to turn my fans on early.
I also have a manual fan switch I wired in.
You can buy a switch from SLP to give you manual capability, or do like I did and wire one up yourself. Hint: the pcm turns the fans on by putting the signal wires to the relays to ground.
