Default Chrome plating intake?

Is it possible to chrome plate the intake? I only ask because a young friend of mine said he was going to have his done.
It would look nice if possible.
Would there be a heat problem?

thanks.

I do not think you could do that with the platic intake. It would be a heat problem.

I tend to agree that the engine heat could be a problem. However, many 1st. thru 3rd. generation Camaros had chromed plastic parts from the factory. Most are interior parts.

I have used American Plastic Chrome to plate parts for my early Z28 cars. It might be worth a phone call to get their opinion on the intakes.

Jeff, thanks, I'll have to e-mail them for details. Wouldn't the chrome cause it to retain heat though? That'll be one of the questions I'll ask them.
