Default Re: C5R Timing Chain?

I called Chris at Katech and asked for the IRL timing chain. My invoice has part number HME-G68VC-60, description Chain, Timing 3/8x7/32-60L, Hutton LS1 Timing Chain. It's slightly beefier than stock, but not by a huge margin. Worth the extra $110? I don't know. I ordered both this chain and the Cloyes gearset (that came with a stock replacement chain) from Katech. I believe ARE was supposed to be getting some better chains from Australia, wonder what happened to that...

Does work fine, though. I did the chain, timing gearset, and an ARE LS6 oil pump during my cam swap.

As a matter of interest there is a billet double row timing chain, I Have it fitted to my LS1 it is adjustable in two degree incrementsup to 8 degrees.

They are made in Australia by Rollmaster,if you speak to Nick Agostino he has some being fitted now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the double roller require some interesting machining, or work that wouldn't be able to be done with the motor in the car?

Or is it a plug and play, engine in the car upgrade?

I probably won't tear mine open again soon, but just thought I'd ask for any other interested parties.

Yeah

Let me clarify, there is no machining to fit
( sometimes they cover might need some relieving but most of the time this is not necesary)

The oil pump requires shiming this is best acheived with the motor out, however I have seen it done with motor in and lifted of its mounts.
