Default Does this dyno sheet look normal??

Some of you may recall my earlier post about me using 87 instead of 93 octane. Is this a normal looking dyno graph?

Thanks for the help! As for a converter I don't have one. Just the mods in my signature. The guy who dyoned it said it was due to kncok retard?

Thats a screwed up graph
Do you feel that surging on the road?
"o"and don't run 87 octane

Don't feel no surging, but I'm hoping that me running 87 didnt hurt my numbers to bad.

why would you take it anywhere on 87 octane, especially the dyno?
doh!

oh yea and where is the rpm and power scale on the dyno? looks to me like you let off around 5 grand instead of 6.

Trust me I know about using 87 octane now! He pushed it to the 5500 rpm's. Personnaly I don't think he new what he was doing. Here are the three runs he did.

1st: 257/258
2nd: 286/275
3rd: 297/284

As you can see they very quite a bit. Not sure why my torque numbers are so low though. Maybe the 87 ctane had alot to do with these numbers.

That's the ugliest graph I've ever seen. The hp line is supposed to slope up and peak at around 5800 and the torque is supposed to be more like a plateau and peak around 4500 or so. They are not supposed to be wavy like that at all. I don't know what 87 octane will make a dyno graph look like, but it seems to me that the dyno d00d doesn't know what he's doing. And that 3rd run...torque lower than your hp? That's not right at all. BTW, tell him next time to run it to 6000 unless you're tach reads high.

A couple things. In the cold weather, it is not as critical running 87 octane as people are making it. Granted, running on a dyno it isn't the best idea, but for everyday driving it isn't a problem unless you spend a lot of time at WOT above 4000.

Next point, as for the guy lifting at 5000, the few times I have had my car dyno'd, the operator stayed at WOT till he hit the limiter then he let up. It's not a big deal to hit the limiter, not something I would recommend everyday, but on a dyno a couple times a year, it's not that big of a deal.

I agree with you J'sRamAir! Crazy thing is when I pull up the RPM's on the chart it never gets above 2500. Which I know is wrong cause I watched him run it to the red line. Maybe I'm pulling the graph up wrong on the dyno runviewer?

We have dynoed over 75 LT1's and LS1's this past year and I have never seen a graph like that. Knock retard will not give you a wave like that. As far as only seeing up to 2500 rpm on your graph you may have to pick a different drive ratio if the car shifted during the pull. Each time the car shifts the Dyno calculates a new ratio. If you have the winpep files forward them to me and I will see if I can help you out.
