Default My SES light is on, what do I do?

It came on last night. It has been on every time I have started the car and remains on. I have ATap. How do I see why I am getting the SES? Can I clear it using the ATap?

Thanks!

Sounds like you may just need to clear it.

Just goto www.installuniversity.com for resetting the PCM.

If you just recently added a MOD, I would suggest you recheck it just to be sure. If not take a look around your engine bay and see if anything looks loose, also check under your car for the O2 sensors. One came loose on mine and drove me nuts removing MODs to see which one was causing it to light. Just a simple little connector

ATAP is read only.

I believe you can clear trouble codes with your ATAP. Have a look here http://www.autotap.com/howautotapworks.html

"You can use the A-Tap to clear the codes"!Us your A-Tap to read what code it is.
Click on Trouble Codes at the top of the screen.
Click on Read DTC's.
It will then download all the DTC's stored in the PCM memory.
If you have Helm's manuals, they'll tell what every code is and what the possible cause could be and what to do to fix it.
Now if you want to, click on "Clear DTC's and MIL's" this will clear the codes from the PCM.
If you don't have a Helm's you can post the code and someone will help with it. I have a set of Helms for my 98. I'm not as smart as most others here but if you e-mail me I can try to help. <img src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

Don't clear the code until you see what it is. The light came on for a reason. Autotap can tell you the code, and clear it.
