I've found a nice 2000 WS6 with an M6 that I may try and deal on, however it is at a used car lot and I am haing a very hard time finding out who the original owner was. The only reason that I am so concerned about it is that the car already has SFC's, STB, cat-back, and a set of drag radials on it which leads me to believe that it may have engine internals or other work done to it that may void the remaining factory waranty.
So, assuming that I can't contact the original owner, what should I look for? Obviously a test drive is in order. What specific mechanical signs, noises, smells, etc?
Thanks,

All that also leads me to beleive it's been ragged on alot too. Carfax I think tells you what dmv it was registered at, I guess they could find to orginal owner. <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0"> Test drive may not be enough, it's kind of a gamble but... I bought mine used also, I think I lucked out, car does even burn oil, it a `99. Make sure no rearend noise, no unsual ticking, knocking sounds when motor is warmed up, no clutch sliping, no U-joint noise, oh yeah and leaking t-tops will give you fits.
