TR55 vs TR5? any differences?
a "sponsor" said they were out of stock on the TR55 and they sent the TR5's instead. He said they are the same just need to Gap @ .050. Is this good info? I had some pinging issues before and if that plug is slightly hotter it may aggravate the situation.

The Tr5's are a "tad" hotter than a TR55. Gap is slightly smaller and you'll be alright.
As the number on the plug increase's, the heat range will decrease....EX:
TR5- hot
TR55- Warm
TR6- colder
or...
A102-slightly warmer
A103-slightly colder

Actually Damian, the TR5s and TR55s are the exact same heat range, the ONLY difference between the two is that the preset gaps out of the box are different. The TR5s come with a lower .039 gap (versus .055 to .059 for the TR55s) This is important because you never want to change the preset gap by more than .010 either way. So if you want to run a low .035 gap for instance, you would do it with the TR5s, not the TR55s.
I can shift faster than you.

You will be just fine. I ran TR5s for awhile when I couldn't get the TR55s (backorder). As Patman said, the TR5s come with a lower gap out of the box. It is nothing to be too worried aboout. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
