How often do you guys check coolant?? I haven't checked mine yet, I guess I should...
How often do you guys check yours and do any of you get low??
Dexcool is what ours take right, a friend of mine told me that you mix it 50/50 with distilled water...what type of dexcool do we use??

Other than that, there should be no need to check the coolant level, and you shouldnt use any coolant.
Dexcool is dexcool...you can buy it from gm for like $28 a gallon or $5 a gallon for 3rd party mfg dexcool (it'll have "GM APPROVED DEXCOOL" writen on the jug somewhere).

Re: How often do you guys check coolant?? I'd say check once a month or so. I didn't check it for a long time until one day a light came on momentarily just after start up and then went out. I took the cap off and looked in. I couldn't see any coolant at all! It's a quick easy check, just open the cap before you go to drive your car one day and make sure the fluid is full up to the cap. It's good to catch a problem early for the obvious reasons, but also Dexcool forms this sludge if it gets in contact with air (you may have seen this as brown gunk on your overflow tank dipstick). I wouldn't want that getting stuck anywhere in my cooling system. FWIW, I also usually flush my radiator and coolant system once a year.
