Default Cam questions for the pros!

my friend is about to get a newer corvette (ls1)and wanted to know the biggest cam he could slide in the car without any piston to vale clearance issues.He wants something in the 600.lift range and the 230.duration area.Thank you. <img src="graemlins/z06.gif" border="0" alt="[Z06 Corvette]" />

Why would he want the biggest cam that'll fit? A cam that is the CORRECT size for his combo will put out MORE power under the curve than "the biggest cam that will fit".

Its OK jmX... We need cars like that to make dyno's like my MTI B1 cam look good <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

Seriously though... Jon is right. In the 230 range, he better be looking at a stroker, otherwise all his torque will disappear, and torque is FUN. Especially when you can buy cams like MTI's Hammer cam and have torque *and* HP. Also see Thunder Racing's 224, and Agostino Racing has a couple great cams in the 224 range.

Between jmX and I, we've probably driven almost every aftermarket cam out there... So we have some idea what works...
